Sunny Minedew — Scenic Nevada Heroe

Sunny Minedew was born and raised in San Francisco. She attended the University of Nevada, where she earned bachelor and master’s degrees. Sunny met and married her husband Dave, who is a third generation Nevadan, and has resided in Reno ever since.

Upon retirement from the University and Community College System of Nevada, she established a small video production company. She enjoys producing programs about Nevada, especially those which take her into the rural areas of the state. In addition to the Scenic Nevada organization, she has produced programs focusing on Nevada’s wild horses, ghost towns, Truckee Meadows Habitat for Humanity, the Reno Balloon races, activities in the Black Rock Desert, and is currently working on a documentary about Zephyr Cove. She is also a long time volunteer for PBS Channel 5, and Sierra Nevada Community Access Television, and has won a number of awards for her productions.
