Scott Gibson, P.E. — Scenic Nevada Heroe

Scott is a local civil engineer who has made Reno his home since 1995. His love and appreciation of the region has grown over those years but the roots go back much farther. Growing up in Roswell, New Mexico instilled a deep affinity for the high desert, mountains, and sage Since arriving in Reno Scott has been active in the community both professionally and privately. He was a founding board member and has served three terms as president of Scenic Nevada.

He was a founding board member of the Historic Reno Preservation Society and he continues to lead historic walking tours of his neighborhood in old southwest Reno during ArTown and Historic Preservation Week. He was a two term president of the Truckee Meadows Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers, served 6 years on the Reno Redevelopment Agency Citizens Advisory Committee and is a member and has served as chair of the Regional Transportation Commission Citizens Advisory Committee.
